Snow Ice cream

This is the first snow I've seen since about 1963 on Christmas day in Nashville, TN

Tip of the day collect the snow and make "Snow Ice Cream"
Scoop away the top 1 inch scoop into a bowl then put in the freezer
Add sugar then a flavoring of your choice.

use a mixer and abra ca dabra a Christmas treat that's pretty darn cool and the texture is awesome

Snow ice cream originated from the Romans, but I still feel that poor share croppers had a hand in making it a little more simply in the kitchen at the turn of the century
due to the lack in money and the availability to products. ie Snow, vanilla extract, then sugar.

Outpost Cafe in Oak Hills CA

Since 1961 the magic has been going on at Newton's "Outpost Cafe" This little gem is next to a Pilot Truck stop on Hwy 395, and still privately owned. Very Cool

I have been to several places on the road but here they are doing it right with old school home cooking from 9 different burgers that will melt in your mouth to the basic fried chicken.
You have to understand that there is a lot of love going into the food along with good taste.

But when it comes to a dessert this is a place near to my heart - uh - stomach FRESH fruit lattice tarts and they even make there own pastry dough. Now this is what I'm talking about I came away with a piece of Cherry pie, and later I was wishing I had a piece of the Blueberry, and the peach of course. Well maybe next time this will be the case.

Taste (8), as for presentation because it was wrapped very particularly on a Hot bun I’ll give it a (10) out of a possible 10.
For me personally it had too much shredded lettuce it kept falling off.
Remember I had the basic burger with Swiss cheese, as far as the rest of the burgers I understand they are quite a few burgers that are on the local favorites list.

When you stop in ask for Sherry and tell her that Blair sent you!
And leave room to sample some of their home made fruit pies

Thank You Sherry Considine
